A North Carolina 501C3 Educational Nonprofit Archive
Documenting, Preserving,  and Promoting Residential Modernist Architecture

George Smart is Chair and Founder of the nonprofit Triangle Modernist Archive, Inc, host to North Carolina Modernist Houses (NCMH), America's largest historical preservation website for Modernist residential architecture. The son of a Raleigh architect, for years he had no interest whatsoever in architecture.  Then in 2007, late at night, something happened.  He was innocently Googling late one night and his life changed forever.

His compelling and entertaining keynote, Mayberry Modernism, shares how North Carolina became the third largest concentration of Modernist houses in the country.  He has spoken to over 65 audiences all across North Carolina and at Modernism Week 2014 in Palm Springs.
