A North Carolina 501C3 Educational Nonprofit Archive Documenting, Preserving,  and Promoting Residential Modernist Architecture

What can you do to support and preserve North Carolina's legacy and future of residential Modernist architecture

Join the Mod Squad Be a part of the community of people dedicated to the preservation of Modernist houses in North Carolina.  Your participation helps make real progress happen, from educational initiatives to tours to growing NCMH's extensive open digital archives, the largest for Modernist houses in the world.

The Mod Squad is the annual fund for the 501C3 nonprofit organization Triangle Modernist Archive, Inc, dba North Carolina Modernist Houses (NCMH).  Joining the Mod Squad provides essential financial and volunteer support, generates buzz and public enthusiasm, and provides much-needed revenue for financial stability, innovative programming, and ongoing operations.  With your financial support, we can take on more documentation, preservation, and promotion projects to assure the continuation of significant Modernist houses in North Carolina.  Join The Mod Squad now and receive:

-- An NCMH Mod Squad Limited Edition baseball cap (first-time members only).
-- Free admission to the NCMH Architecture Movie Series during your membership.
-- Free or reduced admission to any single-house tours, plus exclusive member-only discounts on NCMH tours and trips
-- Special early notice on NCMH tours, lectures, movies, and gatherings - before the main list, before the public, before the media!  As many tours sell out, being a Mod Squad member may be the only way to participate in some events.
-- Invitation to any special Mod Squad-only events, including the Mod Squad and Sponsor Appreciation Reception.

Other Giving Options

Give Through Joining the NCMH Red Chair Society:
Those who provide exceptional financial support to what NCMH does for the community, for architecture, for preservation, for the state of North Carolina, and for historic preservation are inducted into the Red Chair Society each year in a special ceremony with a special commemorative pin, shown above.   This includes donors of over $2,000 and sponsors of over $4,000 annually.  The fastest way to achieve this honor is to sponsor one of our major outreach initiatives:  The George Matsumoto Prize, Project BauHow, or the Legal Defense Fund.

Give Through Naming NCMH as a Beneficiary:
One alternative is to name NCMH as a beneficiary to your retirement plan, IRA, SEP-IRA, life insurance policy, brokerage account, or bank account.  Pre-planning is a generous way to make a legacy gift outside the complications of a will.  These gifts ensure the continued mission of documention, preservation, and promotion of Modernist houses all throughout North Carolina.  Such gifts are easy to implement and often serve as a tax-savvy strategy for donors.  Your bank or plan administrator will need this information:  Triangle Modernist Archive, Inc. dba North Carolina Modernist Houses, 5409 Pelham Road, Durham NC 27713, 919.740.8407.  EIN 26-3643357.

Giving Through Wills and Trusts:
Another alternative is to include NCMH in your will or trust.  Your attorney will want to know that Triangle Modernist Archive, Inc., dba North Carolina Modernist Houses, is located at 5409 Pelham Road, Durham NC 27713, and is a tax-exempt 501C3 nonprofit organization.  Our EIN is 26-3643357.
