Rudolf Michael Schindler was an American architect who was born in Vienna, Austria, on September 10, 1887. He worked with famous architects and was also associated with the modern architectural movement.
Rudolf Michael Schindler worked with three-dimensional forms, used warm materials and unique colors, and was able to work within a tight budget. These made him one of the most wanted architects in the early twentieth century. He always desired to work with Frank Lloyd Wright, and Wright hired him in late 1918. With him, Schindler worked at the Imperial Hotel, which was a significant achievement.
Schindler’s first-ever architectural work was recognized after the building of Esther McCoy’s Five California Architects. Though the Kings Road House and Lovell Beach House were his first works, these works became famous after Esther McCoy’s Five California Architects.
