Gerard E Gray was born in Cheraw, SC, on July 17, 1919. At some stage in WWII, he served in the US Army as a commissioned officer in the Army Corps of Engineers.
Gray had a successful career as a professor of Architectural Engineering at NC A&T. Gerard E Gray served as an Associate Professor and was later promoted to Full Professor until 1974. After that, he became the Director of NC A&T’s Physical Plant and held this position until 1981. After retirement, Mr. Gray relocated to Philadelphia, where he passed away in 2001. Today, he is remembered through a scholarship in his name at NC A&T.
